Electrical Power System Analysis

Before modifying your power distribution system or adding additional loads, it is important to fully understand: - how the existing system is connected & configured - the system fault levels - the actual system loading in terms of active & reactive power demand - how the system load varies during operation over an extended period - the system supply voltage variations, peaks and spikes - the system power factor - the system individual voltage & current harmonic distortions & %THD - what system protection is installed and the settings programmed - the configuration and capacity of the protective earthing system The functionality and features offered by the Fluke 1735 power logger allows Terrella to investigate, measure and record the system operating conditions. The Most Common Applications  1. Load studies - verify electrical system capacity before adding loads 2. Energy assessments - quantify energy consumption before and after improvements to justify energy saving devices 3. Harmonics measurements - uncover harmonic issues that can damage or disrupt critical equipment 4. Voltage event capture - monitor for dips and swells that cause spurious resets or nuisance circuit breaker tripping
